Health is a constantly changing interaction between balance and imbalance.  I serve as a partner in optimizing the journey towards finding health and embodying your fullest potential. - Dr. Lilly-Marie Blecher

Dr. Lilly was born in Manhattan, New York City, far from nature. Her adult life has been dedicated to connecting with nature and observing the wisdom inherent in natural processes. Dr. Lilly began her journey into Chinese Medicine and Naturopathic Medicine because that is what had worked for her as a patient. At the age of 19 she became an apprentice in Chinese Medicine at Outside In, a public health clinic in Portland, Oregon. She continued these traditional studies for 11 years while simultaneously completing her Bachelor of Medicine in Biology and Chemistry at Portland State University, and then completing a six-year intensive program at the National College of Natural Medicine to receive her master’s degree in Chinese Medicine and her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. She was selected as speaker of her graduating class, and after graduation she completed two years of competitive residency in Primary Care and Family Medicine in Connecticut. Dr. Lilly is certified in homeopathy from the New England School of Homeopathy, and now is a candidate for certification in Swiss Biological Medicine with Dr. Thomas Rau at the Paracelsus Clinic in Teufen, Switzerland. She has been on the faculty at the Graduate Institute in Connecticut, Northern New Mexico College in Espanola, New Mexico, and currently teaches Chinese Medicine and nutrition at the University of New Mexico- Taos. She serves on the executive committee of the New Mexico Association of Naturopathic Physicians and has been integrally involved in working towards licensure of Naturopathic Physicians in New Mexico. She serves on the board of Integrative Medicine de Taos, and is president of the board of Taos Whole Community Health, the 501c3 non-profit branch of Taos Whole Health LLC.

Dr. Lilly’s approach to healing is deeply rooted in the elemental and constitutional paradigm of Chinese Medicine. She recognizes that health is a continuously changing and evolving fluctuation between balance and imbalance. Dr. Lilly works to identify the cause of imbalance: be that in the physical body due to injury, toxicity, digestive disturbance, or external pathogenic factors; or in the emotional body due to trauma or societal factors; or in genetic factors or any other possible cause of disease. Dr. Lilly partners with every patient to remove obstacles to healing, provide the body with what it needs to heal, and to find balance. Her focus is on complex, chronic cases such as autoimmune disease, cancer, and undiagnosed conditions, but she also enjoys working with whole families through all of life’s phases.

Dr. Lilly and her partner Aro found their home in Taos in 2012. Their son Max was born in 2015, and Aro’s family moved to Taos in 2017. They are proud to now have three generations living in Taos, and are committed to their community and to the extraordinary land in Northern New Mexico. The establishment of Taos Whole Health in 2017 with Dr. Joanna Hooper brings to life Dr. Lilly’s long held mission to bring access to the broadest possible spectrum of medicine and healing to the community. Dr. Lilly is deeply dedicated to ensuring that patients have the highest level of excellence in the available medical options, combining ancient wisdom and thousands of years of empirical medical data with the best that modern science has to offer. View accepted insurance providers →
