Taos Whole Health Adds Telemedicine Appointments to Reduce the Spread of Coronavirus

Taos Whole Health has succeeded in setting up telemedicine for our providers. If you feel that your upcoming visit does not require any hands-on care, or in-house lab testing, we encourage you to call and request your appointment be changed to a telemedicine appointment.  If you were previously hesitant to make an appointment, but need care we also encourage you to call and schedule a telemedicine appointment. As you can imagine, the number of patients in the clinic at any given time has been significantly reduced.  Additionally, we cannot stress enough that we are taking every precaution to ensure the safety of the team and patients throughout the day.

How do you know if you can participate in a telemedicine appointment?

You are able to access healthcare through telemedicine if you have access to a computer with audio and video capabilities, and an internet connection, OR if you have a smartphone or tablet with iOS or Android software.  You will NOT need to download an app. Instead, you will receive an email invitation with a hyperlink from one of our team members. You will click on the hyperlink and it will take you to the virtual exam room; it’s that easy!

For those that lack access to either of these devices, we hear you.  We are working on navigating phone appointments and will update you as soon as we feel confident that we can provide adequate and responsible care telephonically.

Is there anything else required?

While not necessary, we highly recommend having a flashlight, digital blood pressure cuff, and digital thermometer for your virtual visit.

How will I be billed and will insurance cover this?

For time-of-service patients, you will be required to pay prior to your visit.  For patients whose insurance we regularly bill, you will be required to pay any copays prior to the appointment.  We will submit to your insurance as we usually do

If telemedicine sounds right for you, call the clinic at 575.776.7806 to set up your appointment. Due to the high number of calls we are receiving, you may need to leave a message. We will return your call promptly.

We will continue to update you as we develop our practice to respond appropriately as the situation changes.
